Booster Buddies: Safety Town — in-game scene with the cardboard-box characters and a blue car on a workshop lift
Booster Buddies workshop scene

An educational web game for children aged 4 and up, developed as a research and promotional project through George Brown College's Game Design program in collaboration with Windsor University and Magna International. Children explore a virtual town and complete mini-games teaching vehicle safety and public health awareness, translating institutional safety messaging into age-appropriate interactive play.

Challenge

Translate Magna International's vehicle-safety and public-health messaging into something genuinely engaging for four-year-olds and up — across an entire 3D web town with multiple mini-games — while serving as a flagship research and promotional project for the new Game Design program.

Solution

Produced and led programming and UX/UI on the project: designed the overall educational game structure, framework architecture, and UI system; led the assembly of the interface and environment across the full game; and managed cross-disciplinary collaboration between academic, corporate, and research partners.

Outcome

Shipped as a 3D web game serving Magna's safety messaging and Windsor University's research goals, demonstrating the Game Design program's capacity for serious-game and edugame development.
